Fit40
Where Faith, Fitness and Fellowship Meet!

The Men’s Ministry of Abundant Life kicked off its Fit40 wellness initiative on Monday April 9th with a dynamic launch at the church’s grounds. Participants registering for the initiative, took advantage of health screenings, weigh-

in and recommendations by the onsite medical team. With their personal screening record in hand, the group then moved into a seminar for an inspiring launch devotion time and practical Health Talk session.

Co-Senior Pastor Cranston Knowles, also a participant on the 40 day journey centered his presentation from the

ending verses of 1 Corinthians 9 which speak to consistency and determination in disciplining the body. He also shared his personal health story and gave the following four areas that should be done every day to ensure a successful journey:

1. Log what you eat
2. Perform at least 30 minutes of exercise that raises the heart rate
3. Drink no less than 8 glasses of water
4. Have personal devotion time

The Seminar was then followed by a Health Talk with Dr. Crispin Gomez who spoke on the importance of makinghealthy choices in terms of eating. He shared further on suggested portion sizes, how certain types of food affect the body and then took time out for a question and answer period.

The Fit40 program offers three exciting classes per week: Exercise with Elkin Jones on Mondays at 6pm, Core Exercise with Dr. Basil Sands, Tuesdays at 6pm and another Exercise with Elkin session at Goodmans Bay on Saturdays at 6am.
